In the context of a study of sociology and anthropology, society is an important and a greatly used concept. It is very importance of Nepalese culture and society. In general, sense, society is a group of individuals that we see at a glance and a structure of their settlement. The certain concepts have been developed in sociology to understand and analyze society and its processes. By the structure of Nepalese in society and culture, We mean the total system of life of Nepalese people belonging to different castes, languages, occupations, and culture. It refers to the relation among economic system, political system and socio-cultural values that people have developed over time. In the way, Culture can be taken as a broad term changing and developing from time to time. Analyzing this way, the structure of Nepali society and culture is the holistic form of contradictions, relations and interdependence within Nepalese society and culture. For example, it is necessary that the structure of Nepali society and culture should have the following things.

  • The form of economic system and the relation among different aspects within it like economic relation, behavior, livelihood pattern form of economic system and its relation with society.
  • The character of the political system, a situation of participation, political behavior, activities, and society.
  • The condition of different caste, different classes and the relation between these within the social system as well as the interaction among those elements are the important aspects of social structure.
  • The demographic structure under which come, age, occupation, gender and the structure they create, their relation to different regions, nature of the population and the condition of social tendency are also the units of social structure.

Social Structure is a continuously running pattern based on the interrelation of different social units. There is an interaction between the element within it. There is also conflict and contradiction in this process. It contains the possibility of social change. But a structure is more permanent than temporary. While the change in social units is natural the change in the main structure is very low and slow. Social structure changes as the unit within it change. Comparatively, social structure is a permanent concept.

By the structure of Nepali society, we mean the form and the interaction and relation among the following aspects.
  • Political system
  • Economic system
  • Social system
  • Religious

There are many units within these systems. For example, Politics is an important unit of social structure and within politics also come elements like parties, state, government, organs of government and relation and dependence between them. Similarly, a social unit is also an important unit of structure. Under social unit also come element like ethics groups, institutions, organizations etc. These can be called sub-units. There is interactions, relations, contradiction and dynamism among these elements. Thus, social structure is a complex concept. Therefore, the structure of Nepali society is also based on the same kind of complexity. Reading and teaching of sociology and Anthropology is also for knowing about a society by understanding this complexity.
