Present Nepali Society

The Popular movement of 2062/2063 and its result are going to help in the restructuring of Nepalese state, economy, society and culture. New definitions and systems are being introduced in Nepalese society. Some tasks have already been done and some are left to be done. The practices done for the restructuring of Nepali state or society are as follows:
- Nepal has been declared as a secular state. Because of this the political, social and economic relations that developed on the foundation of a specific religion can dissolve. New socio-political patterns and relations may be built up. co-existence of different religious and the social practice of working together can so forward.
- The beginning of federal republican political system can help end the problems that arose because of centralized rule under the political system responsible towards local resources on the basic of castes languages, cultures and regional development will come to an end. But it may be necessary to warn and put pressure on self centeredness and elitism, likely to be inherent in the local ruling system through people education, awareness and capacity building.
- Inclusiveness can guarantee the rights of the minorities in future federal system. It also helps to make representative, the political system within the federal status. But a lot of challenges lie ahead regarding how to manage it and how to identify the minorities within the federation.
- Today's Nepalese society is focused on developing and promoting the plural social form. It may make it possible to develop equally all castes, languages, arts, cultures and literatures.
- The open/liberal economic policy may affect Nepalese society negatively. The rate of national production is very low. Possibility of investment of internal capital is also very weak. The state has withdrawn itself from education, health, communication etc. Its impact can be scene on the increasing gap between the rich and the poor. There needs to be efforts and discussion about how we can uplift the poor people.
- If the federal state fails, the exploitation, oppression and conflict will be repeated and state integrity will come into question. Centers of political power don't want to discuss it because they still lack knowledge, experience and commitment. They suffer from narrow mindedness.
